Well, dear friends, I would like to leave my comments also in your useful discussions.
I have a website http://www.marantoni.gr and I try to promote it by myself.
I saw in 2 years the page rank to increase from 2 to 5.
My concusions are that, if you need to get higher page rank then the links that points to your site must have higher page rank than yours.
Even it is hard (need too much time) it worths cause the page rank in combination with good keywords promote automatically your site in first results.
That was my experience through my try for better performance.
Also I would like to notice that google updates is coming every end of months about 24-28 of every month.
I believe that if we know how to promote our site, then the good results are coming from alone.
Wishing good luck to all of you, even we need the luck but first coming the Hard Try.

http://blogs.hexaware.com/ – PRV increased from Zero(0) to 3.

http://www.hexaware.com/ – PRV increased from 5 to 6.

http://seoresumes.blogspot.com/ – PRV increased from 1 to 2.

http://toprankseo.blogspot.com/ – PRV increased from Zero(0) to 2.

http://afzal-khan.blogspot.com/ – PRV increased from Zero(0) to 2.

I am waiting to see some more changes.

I am showing some interesting results. Like spiderman above, I have developed loads of sites since the last update. One site is part of a mini network for a virtual company, a retail arm of our main wholesale company, I have developed several sites for this project and cross linked them. For some reason the main site for the retail venture has gone from PR0 to PR3 with very few back links. Our wholesale site with severla thousand backlinks has gone from PR2 to PR3. Strange!

This update has been strange. I’ve done 6 sites since the last update, and have only got backlinks to four of those sites. Yet two of my sites (a local community site and an article site) have been given a PR1, all others only have PR0. So, with both sites only having between 10-15 backlinks in yahoo – and only 8 and 10 links in the Google WMT – the infrastructure of the PR algorithm has obviously changed. For the better;)
