First news about Press Release Submitter

Maybe you asked yourself why this long silence. Well, on Twitter we announced 2 new applications in Submit Suite. For the first of them the time is arrived. The application is named Press Release Submitter, a software for press release submission.

Press Release Submitter has a database which is already used in our press release distribution service. At the moment we have 15.000 media contacts from US, later we will add also German, Spanish, French and Romanian media contacts.

The application will be easy to use, in the line of Article Submitter or Website Submitter. Some of functionalities will be:

language detection and spam filter (a press release in German canot be send to a english contact)
the possibility to filter the media contacts based on complex selections, categories, TV, radio, magazines etc
The PR sending is done using SMTP ( support + SSL), with defined delay time between sending
Editing capabilities for the database of media contacts (import, blocking contacts etc)

Article Submitter database temporary solution

Article Submmitter is using for submission articles directories developed using Article Dashboard script. For 2 days these article directories are under attack and some of them are even hacked or down ( see the threads from article dashboard forum ).

We have release a temporary update for the database which contains only a small part of the directories, the ones not affected. Please use the build in functionality from Article Submitter and click on UPDATE to get the last version of the database ( containing only 215 article directories until the problem is solved).

update 05.11.2007:
We have started last week on the database cleanup, we have started from our list of 975 directories and we are almost 70% ready. Based on my estimation on 11.11.2007 we will have the new complete database up and running.

update 11.11.2007:
The new cleaned database is now launched. Article Submitter 2.0 has now a database of 712 directories ready to be used from the application.

Bought: end 2004, no content until 2006
Content: security directory (using phpLD) and a customized theme
Promotions applied: no effort

In October 2006 the website had no Page Rank, barely 5 visitors per day. Starting October 2006 we have used this website as pilot for our submission tests using Website Submitter.

What we have done?

We added multiple descriptions for the Defense Squad in Website Submitter
We added multiple titles ( anchor texts ) for the www.defensesquad.com in the application

We received so often the request to have in Website Submitter the option to import or add your own directories until we decide to have in the last version 1.4 this feature added.

So let’s see what is also new in Website Submitter 1.4:

2406 directories ( 163 new directories added).
Speed submission increased.
User custom directories as in the above screenshots. If you want to add your own directories you can click on button “Add Directory”. The stored directories and profiles will be kept even if you make future updates ( take a look at a video demo with this new functionalities )

Long awaited Article Submitter 1.4 is now released packed with last features asked by the ones who really use this application. All the development done is tailored to the needs you expressed in the last months.

So let’s see what is new in Article Submitter 1.4:

647 article directories ( 400 new article directories added)
Speed submission increase with 200%.
All directories are categorized and are now grouped in thematic categories (Arts, Sport, General … ).
For each article submitted you can now choose a Category where this article will be submitted in the article directories. All categories for all directories are available so before start submission you have the option to choose all categories for each directory. During the submission of the article if no category is found then user is prompted to choose one.
The article submission will work in 2 ways (depending on what you choose). First way will be “automatic submission” in case al the categories has been choosed or “interactive submission” and in this case the user will be prompted with option to choose a category.
Automatic creation of author and pen name, options to manage better the article directories list
In the submission process improvements in information displayed ( directory name, category, Google Page Rank etc )
Graphical User Interface redesign for easier usage, help and tips and tricks added
If you download the new updates the new directories are marked with red color and you can use the “Register author” option to register the account to the new article directory automatic. In this way you can keep track of directory where you have an account created.
Option in “Create author information” if the user change the password or the emails should come a popup: “Do you like to reset all the user and password information for all the article directories?”. In this way you can change all the information for all directories. Additional there are 2 buttons “Mark all article directories as registered” and “Mark all article directories as unregistered”.
If no user exists at the submission the account creation is started automatically.
In case a directory has 404 error or the page is not loaded a 60 sec timeout will come in place and the url will be automatic skipped.
